She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brussels and went on to do fashion design at La Cambre Institute. Mademoiselle Jean’s universe is cradled by the fifties, fetishism in the widest sense, glamour and female icons. After her studies, she was hired by the house of Chanel and put in charge of decorating their Brussels’ boutique and its merchandising. She opened her first boudoir boutique in the designer street, 100 Rue Antoine Dansaert in Brussels on Friday 13 May 2005. The boutique, padded in pink, exudes intimacy. This one is now closed, and she opened a second one in Uccle (Brussel), 454 Chée d’Alsemberg (open from thursday to Saturday, from 11 to 18h30) Of late, Mademoiselle Jean has been flirting with lingerie, as she might have hinted in her ready-to-wear collections. A mixture of the burlesque and the austere, she lets herself go in a play of graphics, in the transparent against a play of shadows.
